Jamestown NY- As technologies converge and the line between
the home computer and home entertainment becomes blurred, the function
of SOHO and entertainment furniture is also changing. No longer is the
computer confined to the home office and high definition TV is no longer
just for viewing DVDs.
Two of Bush Industries greatest
strengths have always been the SOHO and entertainment categories and
it has anticipated the new opportunities
that the technological convergence presents. Two recent collections introduced
by Bush, Laurel Court and Charlestown, include coordinating office and
entertainment pieces. Targeted at "converging" homes where computing
and entertainment technology are interdependent and in close proximity,
the pieces also work independently to furnish separate rooms or conventional
set ups.
"Home office and home entertainment pieces in one collection offer
decorating, technological and retailing opportunities," said Jim
Schmidt II, Bush's V. P. of Marketing & Merchandising. "Besides
all the options that these collections give consumers to configure their
technologies in the same or adjacent rooms, these collections are offering
retailers new opportunities. Office super stores are creating incremental
sales opportunities by offering SOHO and audio/video furniture and consumer
electronics stores are expanding their home entertainment to include home
office."
"Bush can support both independent retailers and national chains
with creative merchandising and direct ship programs," continued
Schmidt. "These retailers can access these new categories and customers
with little or no new investment by up-selling these new categories from
the same vignettes."
Bush is expanding its convergence-friendly
furniture across both its ready-to-assemble Bush Furniture brand, as
well as it's Eric Morgan case
goods line. "We want to be the go-to guys for all price points in
both SOHO and home entertainment," said Mark Phanco, V. P. of Home
Furnishings. "We can put $49 RTA or $1,499 case goods furniture on
the same truck."
Bush will share it's latest home entertainment and home office furniture,
as well as some new bedroom lines at Fall Market. It will also have its
three Pinnacle Award finalists proudly on display. The newly remodeled
Bush Furniture and Eric Morgan showroom is located at IHFC Wrenn 547,
phone 336-882-4413.
