Bush Industries to debut leading edge entertainment furniture designs at CES

Jamestown NY- Flat panel TVs aren't news anymore. But the shape of entertainment furniture is .

As the novelty of flat screen TVs wears off, consumers are looking for more functionality in their entertainment furniture. For most homes the days of the silver video base that places the TV prominently in the center of attention are numbered. Media and component storage is now emerging as a primary design criteria.

Three of Bush Industries latest designs that will debut at CES confront the storage challenge head-on. The new designs include a new plasma base and hutch from its Mason Hills Collection, the Clarion Video Console and a boldly appointed Marquee Entertainment Wall.

"Storage. Storage. Storage. Those are the three most important criteria for entertainment furniture," said Jim Schmidt, Vice President of Marketing & Merchandising at Bush Industries. "As long as there is technological innovation, the average household will have multiple components, some slightly outdated, as well as various media that must be stored. Consoles meet the storage requirement."

Besides meeting the storage needs of the consumer, entertainment walls and consoles play a different aesthetic role than video bases. Their larger proportion acts to deemphasize the TV as the room's focal point. That usually means that the console must compliment the room's décor and style options must be diverse.

"In addition to the contemporary styles we are showing at CES, we have developed a wide variety of other styles for retailers to consider," said Bush's Mark Phanco, Senior Vice President of Home Products Group. "Light and dark finishes, traditional and transitional, even silver video bases, we've got an impressive selection of entertainment furniture and merchandising support."

Bush will debut a contemporary design that is sure to turn some heads. The Marquee Entertainment wall includes fiber optic lighting in its glass shelves that generates illuminated edge profiles.

"The effect is stunning," said Kevin Opferbeck, Vice President of Product Development and Planning. "The optics add a warm ambiance to the room when only the audio system is in use or when there are guests."

Bush will share it's latest home entertainment furniture at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas between January 6 - 9, 2005. Bush Furniture's show space is #25905 located in the Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall 2, Ground Level.
